The Benefits
We’ve seen time and again how a lack of benefits can be a huge setback for freelance 1099 workers. Guilds with Benefits provides the benefits we wish we had 10 years ago when we were starting our freelance careers!
Some of the benefits listed may be foreign to you, so we’ve included some details about each. If you still have questions, feel free to email us at info@guildswithbenefits.com.
We think you’re going to love these benefits!

We offer only the best plans available for medical, dental, and vision insurance. (Gold medical with $1k deductible and Platinum medical with $100 deductible) You can choose which level works best for you and your family.
The Gold plan is 100% covered by GWB. You only pay the difference in premium if you want the Platinum plan plus any premiums for your dependents.
If you’re on your spouse’s plan, you could come out ahead by switching just yourself or your whole family over to Guilds with Benefits.
We can help if you have any questions!

Cashflow can be challenging as a freelancer. We know what it’s like waiting on your customer to make that big payment so you can pay your water bill.
To take on this financial roller coaster, we advance our Guild Members with an hourly wage of $16/hour worked (interest-free, obviously).
Pay-periods are the 1st-15th (paid on the 25th) and 16th-last day of the month (paid on the 10th).
Here’s an example of how it works:
Julie worked 80 hours during the first half of the month and 75 hours during the second half of the month. Julie’s hourly wage advance would be $1,280 for the first half of the month and $1,200 for the second half of the month. Her client also made a $7,000 payment on the last day of the month.
At the beginning of each month, revenue splits are calculated. Julie’s portion of the revenue split (62%) is $4,340, and of that, she pays back what was fronted to her for the hourly pay ($4,340 - $1,200 - $1,280 = $1,860). This amount will be spread over the following pay-periods.
Even though Julie’s revenue split is 62% instead of 100%, she takes home about $170 more per month than when she was 1099- and she can spend all of it (no need to save for quarterly tax payments). Visit the Details page to learn more.
If you typically receive large payments a few times per year, we can help you spread them out over a longer period of time so you have consistent earnings each pay-period.

Have you or someone you know ever been injured on the job? It can be scary, especially when you realize that it could put you out of work for an extended period of time for the healing process.
That’s why it’s so important to us that we offer Workers Compensation to all of our Guild Members.
Workers Compensation provides financial support for medical expenses and time lost due to a workplace injury.
While we do the best we can to promote and encourage safe work environments for our Guild Members, life sometimes- just happens.
You can read more about Oregon Worker’s Compensation at their website.

Oregon is one of the amazing states offering Paid Family Medical Leave for its W-2 workers. This provides financial support while caring for your own qualifying medical event or that of a family member. This includes things like surgeries, treatments, and pregnancies.
Visit Paid Leave Oregon for more information.

Yes, Guild Members are entitled to unemployment just like traditional W-2 workers.
If the market changes (or a pandemic occurs), leaving you suddenly out of work, you would qualify for financial support while you transition or pivot.
Unemployment payments are determined by the state, and you can find more on the Oregon Employment Department’s site.

Guild Members have access to their own Guilds with Benefits payment portal on PayPal. This allows Guild Members to customize invoices and send professional invoices to their clients with direct payment links.
Update your prices any time. You’re in control of what services you provide and what you charge.

We provide Guild Members with their own Calendly access so they can share their booking link with clients, taking the headache out of scheduling (and it comes with automatic reminders)! Sync your calendar with Calendly, and you’ll never be double booked again.
Already using Calendly? When you join Guilds with Benefits, your current calendar and all of your bookings will flow straight into your Guilds with Benefits Calendly, and you will be refunded for any unused subscription payments.
We thought that was pretty neat. :)
