Guild Members pay dues- $10 per bi-weekly paycheck.
Your clients or customers book and pay through the GwB booking and payment platform.
If you typically receive payment in the form of checks, they should be made out to “Guilds with Benefits FBO (Guild Member Name)”.
You perform your services as usual, earning 70% commissions on all sales you bring in.
Because taxes favor employer/employee relationships over 1099 (and because of large group insurance rates), your take-home pay should be about 90% of your current net pay- or 98% if you factor in the value of 12 PTO days and take advantage of the 401k 3% match!
There is no limit to how much you can earn!
GwB processed your payroll, administers your benefits and tax filings, and pays administrative resource expenses.
At the end of the year, you are issued a W-2 for easy tax filings. No more “failure to file penalties”!!
How does it work?
How GWB works for Casey, a lash artist
Casey has consistent paydays, every other Friday. This helps with her family’s cash flow and provides some predictability since her work is client-based.
Casey can adjust her prices anytime. Since Casey earns 70% commissions on all of her sales, the more she earns, the more she takes home!
Casey has enough PTO built up to take time off for a vacation with her family. They’re going to Hawaii!
Her son has an appointment with his doctor on the 21st. Thank goodness medical insurance premiums are affordable now that she is with GwB!
Casey is able to increase or decrease her retirement contributions whenever she needs. She knows that her contributions are matched up to 3%, but she can choose to contribute more or less than 3% at any time.
She also has coverage for her pets through a benefit offered through GwB.
